AMS–LHR turnaround time issue: 1h00 ground time blocked due to UTC/DST timezone shift

← العودة إلى المساعدة والأعطال

Hello everyone,

I am trying to schedule an AMS–LHR route with an A320 (which requires a 45-minute turnaround). As shown in the attached screenshot, I set the outbound flight at 07:00 AMS -> 07:15 LHR and the return flight at 08:15 LHR -> 10:25 AMS, which gives a full 1h00 turnaround at LHR.

However, the planner blocks the schedule with the error: "It turns round in 0h00 from 29 Sep 1991 to 26 Oct 1991, when LHR is the same time, under the 0h44 it needs."

It seems that because the UK and the Netherlands changed their DST (Daylight Saving Time) clocks on different dates in 1991 (making both AMS and LHR UTC+1 for one month in October), the planner requires me to leave nearly 2 hours (1h44+) of ground time at LHR during the rest of the year just to survive that one-month timezone shift.

In real life, airlines adjust their local departure times when clocks change rather than leaving aircraft sitting on the ground for an extra hour all year round. Could the timezone/DST calculation for turnaround times be adjusted so we don't have to pad every short-haul UK–Europe turnaround by an extra hour?
