November worlds and the first Gate & Globe Cup

We have room to run more worlds now. Over November, we’re adding Open worlds, more slow and medium-speed options, and matching sandboxes. The existing worlds will keep running.

Realistic worlds keep historical traffic rights, slots and era restrictions. Open worlds remove those restrictions. Each gets a sandbox with the same years, pace and rules, but more starting capital. The economy and world events still run normally in sandboxes.

At 24×, a game day takes an hour. At 48×, it takes half an hour; at 144×, ten minutes; at 216×, six minutes and forty seconds. The real-time worlds have no end date.

Realistic - Slow is already open for joining.

Gate & Globe Cup 1

The first tournament starts just before Thanksgiving and ends on 1 January 2027 at 00:00 UTC.

It runs from 2010 to 2025 at 144×, taking just over 38 real days. Registration opens on 9 November at 22:50 UTC, two weeks before the clock starts.

The full rules, scoring and membership prizes will be posted before registration opens.

The 1927 worlds

These start on 1 January 2027, with the game date at 1 January 1927. From then on they run exactly a hundred years behind us, with realistic rules and no scheduled end.

Historical preparation is still underway. Joining is planned for 29 December, and we’ll post more about the period’s aircraft, airports and operating conditions before then.
