Sandbox 1 is open to join, and its clock starts today, Monday 26 October, at 21:00 UTC, on 1 January 1970. It uses realistic rules, with more starting capital and a faster clock for trying out your airline ideas.

| Opens | Open now |
| Clock starts | Mon 26 Oct 2026, 21:00 UTC |
| Companies | Up to 3 per player, including up to 2 airlines; leasing companies enabled |
| Starting capital | $200M in 2020 dollars, adjusted for the game year |
| Rules | Realistic: historic traffic rights, airspace restrictions, real fuel and inflation, and historic world events |
Room to experiment
Start at the beginning of the widebody era and build through six decades of aviation. Try a regional network, plan a long-haul airline, or run two airlines with different approaches. The larger starting budget gives you room to explore, while the clock runs at twice the pace of Realistic 1.
The realistic rules still apply: traffic rights, airport slots, fleet maintenance, staffing and changing fuel prices all matter. A bigger budget gives you more options, but your airline still needs to work.
Before the clock starts
Join now to be ready for 21:00 UTC. Actions become available when the clock starts, with everyone beginning on 1 January 1970. You can also join after the start.
Realistic 1 and Realistic 2 continue alongside Sandbox 1. Choose a world, and share your plans or questions below.
