GATE & GLOBE
Terms of service
The agreement between you and foleybridge.software, which runs Gate & Globe, when you use the site, play the game, or pay for membership or advertising.
Last updated 24 October 2026.
These terms
These terms cover everything at Gate & Globe: the website, the game at /play, the forum, gallery, Dispatches, chat and its direct messages, membership and advertising. Gate & Globe is owned and run by foleybridge.software, based in Texas, USA. "We" and "the team" mean foleybridge.software and the people who run Gate & Globe for it. "You" means the person using it.
By creating an account, or by using the site without one, you agree to these terms and to the pages they include:
- Community rules, for everything you post or send.
- Advertising guidelines, if you advertise.
- The rules on each world's Overview tab, for play in that world.
Privacy explains what the site stores about you and where it appears. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the site.
Who can use Gate & Globe
- You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for using online services without a parent's consent.
- If you are under 18, you need a parent's or guardian's permission to buy membership or advertising credit.
- You may not use the site if the team has permanently removed you, unless the team agrees otherwise.
Your account
- Keep one account per person. It is your identity in every world and on the forum.
- Use an email address you control. It is how you sign in and how the team confirms the account is yours. It is not shown on your profile.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account. Do not share, lend, sell or trade an account, and do not use anyone else's.
- Choose a display name that does not impersonate another person, a real business or the team, and is not offensive. The team can ask you to change a name that breaks this.
- If you lose access, contact the team. Once it is satisfied that the account is yours, it can issue a single-use recovery link.
- If you think someone else has used your account, change your password, end your other sessions in Settings, and contact the team.
Free to play
Gate & Globe is free to play. Membership is optional and lets members run leasing companies; other paid extras are cosmetic. Advertising credit is separate from the game and from airline finances.
Playing fair
Every world is shared with other players. In every world:
- Play only from your own account, and run only the airlines and leasing companies the world allows each player.
- Do not use a second account, or someone else's, to help your own companies. That includes trading shares, aircraft, leases, cargo or charters on terms no independent company would accept, and founding companies to feed money or assets to your own.
- Do not arrange with other players to pass money or assets between companies on terms that are not genuine business. Alliances, competition and hard bargaining are part of the game; gifts dressed up as deals are not.
- Take every action in the game yourself. You may get help and advice from anyone or anything, AI included, but do not let bots, scripts, browser automation, AI agents or macros play for you, or send requests to the site faster than a person using it would. Tools that only change how pages look in your own browser are fine. The game reviews play for automation and may ask you to pass a quick check before your next action; anything more is the team's decision.
- Do not exploit bugs. If you find one that gives an unfair result, report it on the Bug desk instead of using it.
- Do not attack, probe or overload the site, try to reach other people's accounts or data, or get around limits, suspensions or bans. If you find a security problem, tell the team privately through Contact the team and give it reasonable time to fix the problem before telling anyone else.
- Do not buy or sell accounts, companies, game money, aircraft or anything else from the game for real money or for anything outside the game.
If these rules are broken, the team can correct what happened in a world, reverse the results of an exploit, wind down or remove the companies involved, suspend the player in that world, and act on the site account. Corrections and suspensions in a world are recorded with a reason.
Worlds and seasons
- Each world sets its own era, pace, map, traffic rights, starting capital, company limits and other rules, shown on its Overview tab before you join.
- The team can change a world's rules for the rest of a season, for example to fix a problem or set a closing date. Changes apply from the time they are made.
- When a season finishes, its companies, capital and game money do not carry over. Results and trophies from finished seasons stay on your profile.
- In a world that never ends, the airlines of a player who has not signed in for the number of days the world's rules set are wound down.
- The simulation changes as the game develops. Costs, demand, aircraft, airports and other data can be rebalanced or corrected, including during a season.
- If a fault damages a world, the team may pause it, correct it or, as a last resort, restore it from an earlier point.
- Game money, companies, shares, aircraft, rankings and everything else in a world exist only in the game. You may use them in the game, but you do not own them, they have no value outside it, and they cannot be exchanged for real money.
What you post
This covers forum posts, chat messages, gallery images, Dispatches, your profile and signature, direct messages, airline and alliance names, codes, colours and descriptions, and anything else you submit.
- You keep ownership of what you create. You give Gate & Globe a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, format and display it, and to show it to the people it is shared with, for as long as needed to run and promote the site. The licence continues for content other people have quoted, and for edit history and moderation records.
- Post only what you have the right to share, and credit other people's work.
- Real airlines, aircraft and airports appear in the game and on the forum. Fictional airlines and roleplay are welcome, but do not present them as a real company or as endorsed by one. Fan liveries and logos based on real brands can be removed if the brand's owner objects.
- Everything you post must follow the community rules. Moderators can move or close discussions, hide posts, delete chat messages and mute members in chat; administrators can suspend posting access. Automatic moderation can also take down posts and chat messages that break them and mute members in chat, as the community rules describe.
- Direct messages are shown only to their two members, and to the team when one is reported. They are stored on the site's servers and are not end-to-end encrypted.
- The team may disclose content or account information when the law requires it, or when needed to protect someone from serious harm.
- If you send ideas or suggestions, the team may use them without owing you anything.
Copyright and trademark complaints
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright or trademark, use Contact the team and include a link to the content, a description of the work or mark you own, your contact details, and a statement that the information is accurate and that you own the rights or may act for the owner. The team removes infringing content and can suspend accounts that post it repeatedly. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, contact the team with an explanation.
Membership
- Membership is sold in prepaid terms of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, priced in US dollars on the Membership page. You pay once through Stripe Checkout.
- Membership never renews automatically. You are not charged again unless you buy another term.
- Membership starts once Stripe confirms the payment. If you buy while a membership is current, the new time is added after your current paid-through date.
- While your membership is current you are a First Officer. Once you have held membership for a year in total you become a Captain, and keep the rank and its perks after you stop paying. Time from earlier memberships counts toward the year.
- The perks are listed on the Membership page. They can change as the game develops; a change does not shorten time you have already paid for.
- Prices can change. A price change does not affect time you have already bought.
- If a payment went wrong or you have a problem with your membership, contact the team. Refunds are at the team's discretion unless the law where you live gives you a right to one. A refunded membership ends when the refund is made; time held before then still counts toward Captain.
- If you reverse a membership payment through your bank, the membership it paid for ends.
- The team can grant membership, and can end a current membership with a recorded reason, such as after a refund or a serious breach of these terms. Ending a membership for a breach does not entitle you to a refund unless the law requires one.
Advertising
Anyone with an account can open an advertiser account, buy advertising credit and bid for the site's ad spots. The advertising guidelines are part of these terms for every advertiser. They cover what ads may contain, how ads are reviewed, and how credit, auctions, placements and refunds work.
Payments
- Payments are made to foleybridge.software and processed by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and are not stored by Gate & Globe. Stripe's own terms and privacy policy also apply to your payment.
- Prices are in US dollars. Your card issuer may charge a fee for paying in another currency.
- Use only a payment method you are authorised to use.
- Membership and advertising credit are separate. One cannot be used to pay for the other, and neither can be exchanged for game money.
Our content and names
- The site, the game, its software, text, artwork and maps, and the Gate & Globe name and logo belong to foleybridge.software or its licensors. You may share screenshots and recordings of the game and write about it. Do not copy the site or the game, or use the name or logo to suggest that your work is official.
- Gate & Globe is inspired by Airline Empires. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Airline Empires or its developers.
- Real airline, aircraft, manufacturer and airport names, codes and marks belong to their owners and are used to identify them. Their use does not mean their owners endorse Gate & Globe.
- Gate & Globe is a game. Its aviation data is simplified and must not be used for navigation, flight planning or real business decisions.
Links and other services
Ads, posts and profiles link to sites the team does not run. The team does not control them and is not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. Ads are reviewed before they run, but approval is not a recommendation.
Availability and changes to the site
Gate & Globe is developed and run continuously. Features can be added, changed or removed, the site can be down for maintenance or because of a fault, and worlds can be paused. The team gives notice of planned changes in News where it can, but does not promise that the site will always be available or free of errors.
If the team stops running Gate & Globe, it will announce it in News beforehand where it can, and will handle unused membership time and advertising credit as the law requires.
Suspension and closing your account
- You can stop using Gate & Globe at any time. To delete your account, use Contact the team. If you have unused advertising credit, ask about it before your account is deleted.
- When an account is deleted, its profile and sign-in end, along with any membership and rank. The team keeps records it needs for accounting, security and legal reasons, such as payment and advertising ledger entries and moderation records. Text other members have quoted stays in their posts.
- The team can suspend posting, suspend a player in a world, suspend an advertiser account, end a membership or close an account when these terms or the community rules are broken, to protect players or the site, or when the law requires it. Serious or repeated breaches can lead to permanent removal.
- Where it can, the team tells you why it acted. To ask for a decision to be reviewed, contact the team with the details.
No warranty
Gate & Globe is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, the team makes no promises beyond those in these terms, including about availability, the accuracy of game data, or whether the site suits a particular purpose.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, foleybridge.software is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, or lost game progress. Its total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid Gate & Globe in the 12 months before the claim and US$50.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
Business use
If you use Gate & Globe for a business or organisation, including advertising, you agree to cover foleybridge.software's reasonable costs and losses from claims by others caused by your content, your ads, or your breach of these terms or the law.
Changes to these terms
The team may update these terms as the site changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Significant changes are announced in News before they take effect. If you keep using the site after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using the site and ask for your account to be closed. A change does not take away membership time or advertising credit you have already paid for.
General
- If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If the team does not enforce part of these terms straight away, it can still do so later.
- You may not transfer your account or your rights under these terms. The team may transfer these terms to someone who takes over running Gate & Globe, with notice in News.
- These terms, with the pages listed at the top, are the whole agreement between you and the team about using Gate & Globe.
Governing law and disputes
These terms, and any dispute about them or about Gate & Globe, are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any court case must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you and foleybridge.software agree to those courts' jurisdiction.
If you have a problem, contact the team first; most issues can be settled directly, and the team will try to resolve a dispute informally for at least 30 days before either side goes to court.
If you live outside the United States, this section does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or any right those laws give you to bring a claim in your local courts.
