For now there is one world, Realistic 1. Every airline in a world competes for the same passengers, slots, used aircraft and shares, so with only a few players a second world would split them up and leave both quieter. Once there are more active players I'll open new worlds, and the poll below decides which comes first.
World types
The Worlds page lists worlds in sections by type. A world's Overview shows all of its settings: era, pace, end date, traffic rights, starting capital and limits.
Realistic. History sets the rules. Foreign airlines can't fly domestic routes, flights between two foreign countries need agreements, markets open over time, closed airspace makes routes detour, and aircraft are sold only within their bloc. Fuel, inflation and demand follow history, with the world events of the period. Realistic 1 is one: 1985 to 2035, at 1 game day every 10 minutes.
Open. The same aircraft, airports and economy as a realistic world, with open skies: any airline may fly any route between any two airports, including routes no real airline would fly.
Sandbox. Fewer constraints, for learning the game or trying ideas: open skies, prices, fuel and demand growth held at their level when the season starts, no dated world events, and no end date.
Tournament. A season with a fixed end and prizes of membership for the top places by one final standing, such as net worth. Tournaments open for joining one to two weeks before their clock starts, so everyone starts together. The team reviews play before granting prizes.
Members can also host up to two private worlds for friends or a league, with any start year from 1950, their own pace, length and starting capital. They're invitation-only and award no trophies.
