Competition on more than price	Travellers choose on fare, frequency, journey time, comfort, service and reputation, and connect across networks.
Fleets that behave like fleets	Aircraft fly real timetables, age with hours and cycles and go in for checks; pilots are qualified on one family.
Growth limited by economics	No caps on aircraft or routes; cash, credit, crews, gates, slots and demand set the limits.
Something to do with money	Shares trade on an order book, shareholders elect CEOs, and airlines can be taken over.
Realistic flying	Flights follow real airways, around closed airspace such as the Soviet bloc's, with seasonal winds.

Worlds

Each world sets its own era, pace and rules. A season opens with a few days to join and every airline starts with the same capital; some worlds end with final standings, others never end. Tournaments award months of membership to the best airlines, and members can host private worlds for their alliances and friends.
